United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey sent the Reading painted F7A from their collection. Order #8552, build date October 1949, original owner: Chicago & Northwestern RR, #4074A, nee #424. NJ Transit acquired this locomotive from the C&NW in 1983 and utilized it as #424 primarily from Hoboken to Dover and Waldwick. It was retired in 1985, stored and donated to the museum collection in 1991. It has been restored to represent a Reading Company locomotive of the same type that operated through central New Jersey between Jersey City, Port Reading and points south and west |

The Norfolk Southern FP9A units did the photo freight on Sunday afternoon. Here is some of the work done to the pair since NS purchased them from Kansas City Southern in 2006: Original rounded pilots recreated from scratch, previous HEP generators replaced with smaller units and rooftop piping was modified, rewired, but not upgraded to Dash-2 specs, under-floor air conditioning installed, cab signal and LSL installed, converted from clasp brake rigging to single shoe arrangement, radiators replaced with lead free mechanically bonded radiator cores with modifications to accomodate 6 inch cores, electronic brake with ECP and "LEADER" installed during winter/spring 2012. Rated at 1800 hp, D12B main generator, D77 traction motors, 57:20 gear ratio, 90 mph max speed. Both were built for the B&O with #4271 being released in August 1952 |

This is the last F7A built by General Motors Diesel Division, Ltd. at London, Ontario. Built in April 1953 on order #A487 as Wabash #1189, Class D-15. It was renumbered to 725 in 1960 and became Norfolk & Western #3725 in 1965. It was donated to the Monticello Railroad Museum by N&W in 1982. The full restoration was completed in 1992 |

The Lake Superior Railroad Museum shipped this FP7A via BNSF & NS for a total cost of two dollars. It was built in 1949 as EMD demonstrator locomotive #7001. Soo Line bought #7001, and the other demonstrator locomotives #7002 & #7003, for its subsidiary Wisconsin Central. The 7001 was renumbered #2500-A, and #7002 & #7003 were renumbered #2500-B and #2501-B respectively. Soo donated the out of service cab to the Duluth MN based museum in 1986. The exterior was restored and repainted, and mechanical restoration was completed in the spring of 1995 |
