A CN through freight parallels Harrison St. and passes Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 as it heads southwest at the south end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 24 Aug. '17. Train had three locomotives, CN 3064 and CN 3045 up front and CN 3060 mid-train. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished.

A CN through freight parallels Harrison St. and passes Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 as it heads southwest at the south end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 24 Aug. '17. Train had three locomotives, CN 3064 and CN 3045 up front and CN 3060 mid-train. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Things were unusually backed up at North Fond du Lac for some reason. CN 4100, the Moronic Motorcyclist, and the Puerile Pedestrian
Description:
A pair of classic workhorses, with 120 years of combined service, lead a CN local approaching Western Ave. via former SOO rails at Fond du Lac, WI on 1 Sep. '17, while a motorcyclist weaves through the gates in order to avoid having to stop for 45 seconds. The pedestrian at right also ran across the tracks in front of the train. Train had two locomotives, CN 4100 and CN 7027. The rails in the foreground are remnants of the former MILW main line, which still serves at least one customer.

The load looked like it might be large, aluminum rods. The rails in the foreground are remnants of the former MILW main line, which still serves at least one customer.

Description:
CN local bisects the intersection of N. Appleton St. and W. North St./W. Packard St. as it heads southwest via former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI on 1 Sep. '17. Train was headed back to Neenah after servicing Appleton, Little Chute and Kaukauna. Where this solitary track is, there were once seven. The C&NW freight house used to stand on the other side of the tracks. As you can see, I was zoomed in one increment too far.

CN 2552 and CN 2196
Description:
CN container train crosses N. Lake St. past Eggers Industries as it heads northwest via former SOO rails at Neenah, WI on 2 Sep. '17. Founded at Neenah, WI, in 1910 as Hardwood Products Co., construction of the facility commenced in Oct. ’10. It was renamed Hardwood Products Corp. as a result of a merger with Mississippi Veneer & Lumber Co. on 20 Apr. ’22 (the latter company was formed by the same businessmen who founded the Neenah company). Eggers Industries acquired Hardwood Products Corp. in ‘65 and renamed it Eggers Hardwood Products Corp. Eggers was founded by Fred W. Eggers at Two Rivers, WI in 1884 to make wood baskets used by farmers. They later started making plywood and other wood veneer products. There used to be 3 spurs to service the facility, now there is only 1.

CN 2273 and CN 8937
Description:
CN through freight crosses over from the former SOO main line to a remnant of the former C&NW main line by Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 as it heads southwest at Neenah, WI on 2 Sep. '17. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished.
