WSOR Oshkosh Terminal |
Description: |
The interesection of State Hwy 91 (formerly County Hwy X until 1996) and Clairville Road is the location of the WSOR's Oshkosh terminal. Old maps refer to this location as "Fitzgerald" but it is now just another part of Oshkosh. The large grain facility is currently owned by ADM. |

WSOR 3810 |
Description: |
Working from the east end of the small yard on the west side of Oshkosh. The WSOR has a small yard here to work the former Milwaukee Road line. Where this small yard is located, the WSOR had a transload facility for everythhing from intermodal, grain and wven coal. The WSOR had a circus style piggy-back ramp along with a piggy-packer, though they didn't generate much in the way of piggy-back business in Oshkosh. Presently, ADM now owns or at least leases the property that isn't the R.o.W. and works the grain traffic out of and into Oshkosh. The facility is also now a transload facility for Fox River Valley Ethanol. (formerly Utica Energy) Ethanol is loaded into tanks for rail shipment. The ATW flat is an empty spotted at Leeco, waiting to go back to Horicon and wherever else it may end up. |

A WSOR train reaches Oshkosh and enters the small yard. In reality this "yard" is not much more than a run around and is adjacent to the United Co-Op elevator facility with its numerous tracks. There is also a spur which serves as the WATCO Port and Terminal facility in Oshkosh, trans-loading granular commodities into these two bay covered hoppers via conveyor. The terminal facility also is involved in transferring between truck and tank cars marked with "inedible tallow". The flat cars with plate steel on them will be going to one or both of the two steel processing centers located on the line. |
