Album Info:Here is a two-page camera study entitled "Pennsylvania's Mountain Types." It was published originally in the March 1943 issue of "Trains" magazine, pages 4-5. No author is specified. "During the bleak years of the early thirties, the Pennsylvania Railroad toyed not at all with new steam locomotives of the 4-6-4 and 4-8-4 types which were then becoming popular. It didn't have to."

Bottom Photo: Shown here is PRR engine #6846, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in August of 1955.
