Description:  RRMP. Here is an original photo that I took at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, on 30 June 1973. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4781 and #4780. They are permanently-linked DD-1's built in Juniata during May of 1911 and rated at 3,160 horsepower. #4781's original number was "3937," while #4780's was "3936." According to the RRMP, "The Museum is home to DD-1's Nos. 3937 and 3936, built in 1911. These two locomotives formed a married pair and operated in the tunnels beneath the Hudson River between New Jersey and New York City until being relegated to yard work in 1924." Visible in the background is one of the RRMP's exhibit halls during its construction.

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5940, an L-6A (1-D-1) boxcab built by Lima-Westinghouse as number "5940" during May of 1934, rated at 2,500 horsepower, renumbered "4791" in November of 1966 in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger, and retired in April of 1968 after 34 years of faithful service. Description:  Here is page eight of a ten-page article by David P. Morgan entitled "The Lima Story:1 ~ Super Power." It was published originally in the January 1952 issue of "Trains & Travel" magazine, page 19. Center Photo Caption: "The box-cab electric 2-8-2 in the center is Pennsylvania number 5940, one of 30 such motors for which Lima built the cabs and running gear. General Electric was to have completed the locomotives, but all were scrapped before seeing any service." Engine #5940 is an L-6A (1-D-1) built by Lima-Westinghouse as number "5940" in May of 1934, rated at 2,500 horsepower, renumbered "4791" in November of 1966, and retired in April of 1968 after 34 years of faithful service.

Description:  Marianchuk. Here is an original photo of (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7851 and #7850. Both are O-1 (2-B-2) electrics built in Juniata and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #7851 was constructed in June of 1930 and retired in June of 1948, while #7850 was built in July of 1930 and retired in February of 1948. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
