Time was running out for The Rock. In 1979 the Kansas City Terminal management was ordered by the ICC to manage the Rock in its last days. When KCT began managing the Rock, this ment the Rock was finished, it was a matter of time.

The first two units went to the Missouri Pacific in 1980 and is now on the Union Pacific.

If it weren't for the sand tower I'd say you had the location wrong. Looks a lot like Council Bluffs' ex-ROCK shops now used by the Iowa Interstate.
