SP Lafayette Division Office
This building at 210 Johnson Street in Lafayette, Louisiana had been built in 1983 and briefly served as the headquarters of the Southern Pacific’s Lafayette Division. It was just south (timetable east) of the Lafayette depot, which was right across Lee Street. A plaque next to the entrance facing the tracks read 1983-DESIGNED AND BUILT BY LAFAYETTE DIVISION MofW EMPLOYEES. The dispatchers had been relocated from Houston to Lafayette in November 1980 and were moved back to Houston in June 1986.

william emmons General Shortly after the merger they tore this building down . If it had been built over by the yard instead of this location BNSF would have been in it . Surprised City of Lafayette didnt grab it or State of Louisiana for government use it was cheap and in good shape . 10/12/2017 10:11:19 AM
