A little more than 10 months after the takeover of Conrail by Norfolk Southern and CSX, we find a Norfolk Southern GP38 with its original Conrail number still on display. Its seen here with a patched sister pulling a train out of the yard in Hazleton, PA. The unit is a former Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines unit and is now owned by Helms Leasing doing duty in Texas. The mountain looking masses in the background are anthracite coal piles. Taken in April 1999 (can't remember the exact day) with my Canon EOS Rebel G film camera. Professionally scanned from the original negative. |
