Burnham, Wms, & Co (Baldwin) built this Prairie-type locomotive in 1901 with 69" drivers and compound cylinders (hp 17"x28", lp 28"28") but later simplified in the 1920's. It could generate a respectable 200 psi for those cylinders. With an engine weight of 209,220 lb, it could produce a tractive effort of 25,446 lb. Here is sits in storage or more probably a scrap line. Actual date and location are unknown as is the photogrpaher who captured it. |
