| The unsung heroes of the New Haven line were these M-2s that were equipped with both pantographs and third rail shoes so they could make the flying change at Woodlawn and run from the ex New Haven onto the ex NYC electrified lines at speed. They soldiered on day in and day out for years. MUs may not be glamourous-wed all love to see washboards again-but they get the job done. |
