MofW Equipment. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, in July of 1960. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7922, an ES-12 switcher built by Gm-EMD in November of 1957 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. It's pulling the daily "Bedford Local" to Altoona ~ but it's way behind schedule because it's been following the "weed burner" and the "water sprayer" since before time began! Note the strings of gondola and hopper cars that have been marshalled for reconditioning in the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop. Photo taken from the southern end of the Union Street Bridge. |
