Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 2 August 1960. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9172, an ES-10 switcher built by GM-EMD in October of 1948 and rated at 1,000 horsepower. The crew is "flat humping" cars in the Yard. Discernable at the right is the wooden water tower (last vestige of the "Age of Steam") and the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop.
