Here is page one of a five-page article by Al Rung entitled "Christmas Eve on the Broadway." It was published originally in the December 1948 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 26. Photo Caption: "Engineer W.J. Kepner, up in the cab of the GG-1 electric, compares his watch with Conductor W.L. Walzer of the Broadway Limited. A minute or so after this required safety ritual, the most famous passenger train on the Pennsylvania Railroad will begin its 16-hour journey to Chicago." Partially visible here is PRR engine #4829, a GG-1 (2-C-C--2) built in Juniata during June of 1935, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and retired in April of 1968 after 33 years of faithful service.
