Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad yard locomotive in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during August of 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #9257, a BS-10A built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1948 and rated at 1,000 horsepower. Visible on the left is a decomissioned PRR combination baggage-passenger car, destined to be scrapped at the Reclamation Plant in Frankstown. Visible on the right is a portion of the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop building. Photo taken near the Yard Master's Office, at the very eastern end of South Juniata Street. |
