Mr. James W. Young, 1955
PRR Men. The second person from the right in this photo is Mr. James W. Young. He lived in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, but was employed as a chemist by the Pennsylvania Railroad in their Altoona Test Department. In additon to being an avid model railroader (with two distinct layouts!), Mr. Young not only gave me a large number of railroad-related magazines, but also arranged for my Father and I to visit SLOPE Tower in Altoona during 1963. This photo was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 100.
