Just as one CN through freight was about to clear N. Lake St., another one rounded the curve to approach the same grade crossing while headed northwest via former SOO rails at Neenah, WI on 8 Mar. '18. Train on the left was headed toward Green Bay. The train on the right was headed for Stevens Point and had two locomotives, CN 2947 and CREX 1504. I enjoy watching trains, so I was thrilled to see the second triangle of light round the curve. I am nearly certain that most of the motorists idling away at the grade crossing did not share my enthusiasm. The former Lieber Lumber facility is partially visible at right. Part of that facility is used as a warehouse by somebody, the office/retail building is currently home to the Valley Academy for the Arts. |
