Nice crisp view of this powerful 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive built by Burnahm, Wms & Co (Baldwin) in December of 1903. Original specs - serial #23425, class 900, 57" drivers, 225 psi boiler pressure, 19x32" high pressure cylinders, 32x32" low pressure cylinders, engine weight of 287,240 lb, tractive effort of 57,314 lb., rebuilt to simple in 1920 at San Bernardino with 28X32 cylinders, retaining the 57" drivers. After nearly 47 years of service, the loco was sold for scrap in 8/22/1950 to Finkelstein Supply Co. No date was given for the photo so an approximate was used. C.C. Grayson photo |
