Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near Cape Charles, Virginia, on 12 August 1951. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #460, an E-6S (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata during August of 1914 and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. This is the so-called Lindbergh Locomotive. In this context, it appears to be powering a seven-car railfan excursion train. ("Stoneborobranch"; #5 of 28) |
