Altoona Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 7 June 1964. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9493, an FF-16 built by Fairbanks-Morse in October of 1950, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in April of 1965 after just 15 years of revenue service. Looks to me like it's seen better days! Produced and distributed by Charly's Slides. |
