| With no spots that really spoke to us west of Franklin Grove, we decided to go back west of town. UP 1111 and the coal train were still parked on the east side of town. So, we thought about trying a meet shot between UP 6706 and UP 1111 there. But, after a little more waiting, and right as UP 6706 got close, CHIBV fired up and continued west, which had us scrambling back into Ashton. Thankfully, we made it into town just as the gates were beginning to activate in town, and we were able to grab UP MMTPR cruise east through town with the only active CNW patch unit on the roster. The heritage unit and the real heritage both leading on the same trip. Awesome! |
