"Royal Street" private rail car on rear of westbound Amtrak Ann Rutledge on a rainy late May afternoon. The "Royal Street" was built by Pullman in 1950. The car, originally owned by the Louisville & Nashville RR, was used on their premier passenger train, the "Crescent." The "Crescent" operated between New York and New Orleans. The car was later operated on the L & N's "Gulf Wind," until 1970, after which it became privately owned. |
