BWCX. Here is an original photo that I took at the Berwind-White Railroad Car Shops in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 24 March 1964. Shown&here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5600, a BS-7M switcher built by Baldwin in 1950 and rated at 750 horsepower. It is shifting newly-painted TrailerTrain flatcar #550453, an ACF F-89. Since the driving wheels on the steam l`comotive called "Nancy" kept slipping off, it became necessary to procure a replacement. This Diesel locomotive was "pinch-hitting" until a replacement was found. |
