| BWCX. Here is an original 35mm color slide by John C. Benson (aka "Mr. Slides") that was taken at the Berwind Corporation's Car Shops in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 30 April 1977. Shown here is their GS-4 diesel-electric engine that was purchased from the Pennsylvania Railroad during 1964. Originally numbered "9328," it was built by GE in 1948 and rated at 380 horsepower. It this context, it's been repainted in honor of the United States Bicentennial Celebration. |
